ArtsDay LA is a day-long educational experience offered by the UCLA Extension Department of the Arts. This free event offers aspiring designers, writers, filmmakers, and artists a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in the subject matter, creative processes, current issues, and potential career paths of six major arts fields. All subject areas explored during ArtsDay LA are related to UCLA Extension course curricula, so the event also lets you sample the level and diversity of professional training we offer.
No. Just show up. We booked large rooms and expect to have enough space for all.
Six different, four-hour sessions are conducted simultaneously from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Each session focuses on one of the following specific areas: creative writing, design communication arts, entertainment media (including acting, cinematography, directing, and music), interior design, landscape architecture, or screenwriting.
The goal is to provide you with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration you need to begin to pursue a career in the arts. Full descriptions of the sessions are available here.
All ArtsDay LA lecturers and panelists are UCLA Extension Department of the Arts instructors and active professionals in their own fields. All will be teaching courses in spring 2008. Have a look at their bios here.
